Beneficial physical exercise in the treatment of sickle cell disease, a study coordinated by Pablo Bartolucci of Team 2!
According to a recent study coordinated by Pablo Bartolucci of Team 2, with the help of the Department of Public Health and Cardiorespiratory Rehabilitation of CHU Henri Mondor and published in the journal Lancet Haemtology in November 2018, physical exercise would bring definite benefits in the treatment of sickle cell disease.
The article appeared in Lancet Haematology, Nov 1, 2018; Vol. 5, Issue 11, e554-62, as well as Professor Gregory J. Kato’s commentary on this article, Lancet Haematology, Vol. 5, issue 11, e502-503. Gregory J. Kato is Director of the Adult Sickle Cell Center of Excellence for the UPP Division of Hematology-Oncology, and Director of the Vascular Medicine Institute/Institute for Transfusion Médicine Sickle Cell Center of Excellence, University of Pittsburgh.
